Graduating seniors receive scholarships for participating in School Counts!

This spring, the Tri-Chamber Foundation gave its first-ever scholarships to students who received School Counts! certificates. The Foundation offered two $100 scholarships to graduating seniors who received their School Counts! certificate during their junior year. Seniors at each school who met this criteria were put into a random drawing and two students from each school were selected to receive this award. In addition to these scholarships, the Foundation presented two plaques to each of the eight public high schools in Columbia and Montour counties. One plaque contains the names of all students who received their master School Counts! certificate for earning a certificate each year, from grades nine through twelve, and the other includes the names of the students who received the School Counts! scholarships.

The students who received the $100 scholarships at the conclusion of the 2007-2008 school year are:

Berwick Area High School - Alisha Casaldi & Steve Keefer
Bloomsburg Area High School - Adam Irey
Central Columbia High School - Anthony Cosoleto-Miller & Michael Schlenker
Columbia-Montour Area Vocational-Technical School - James Gumpy II & Courtney Fassman
Millville Area High School - Shane Davis & Jessica Sheatler
